Personal history before the war

I know very little about my father Alfred S. Brown's life before the war. I believe he lived in Chesterfield and was in the army by 1937.

Wartime experience

Alfred was stationed in Hong Kong and taken prisoner on 14th December 1941. Following this he became one of the Lisbon Maru POWs.

Personal history post-war

I know very little of Alfred's post-war experience until he married and I was born in 1952.

Sadly Alfred was killed in an accident in 1976.

The above information was provided by Liz Roberts daughter of Alfred S. Brown.
